South Africa has taken a bold step toward shaping its digital future with the official launch of the Maharishi NextUp Institute of Technology (MNIT), a transformative initiative designed to equip young people with the skills needed to thrive in a rapidly evolving global economy.
A new Academy within the Maharishi Invincibility Institute, this “moonshot” project is more than just a new campus building - it is a powerful commitment to unlocking opportunity, driving innovation, and ensuring that South Africa’s youth are at the forefront of the technology revolution and are not left behind in the age of artificial intelligence.
A New Home for Innovation in Johannesburg
At the heart of this milestone is a 10-storey, 10,065m² campus, 56 Main Street in Marshalltown, in the Johannesburg CBD.
This landmark building, generously donated by David and Tracey Frankel, will serve as a hub for future-focused education, bringing together students, industry, and opportunity under one roof.
Their contribution reflects a shared belief in Johannesburg’s potential to become a leading technology hub on the African continent.
